NYALA LODGE is situated in Lengwe National Park. It offers nine Luxurious en-suilte chalets (family rooms and double rooms), which, with their thatched roofs, blend in with the surroundings.
All rooms have cold and hot water showers, electricity, mosquito nets and ceiling fan. All rooms are equipped with air conditioners. The main building consists of a restaurant and bar area with a Khonde overlooking a water hole where animals frequently come to drink. There is a little pool where one can cool down on the hot days.
CAMPSITE Nyala Lodge campsite is now fully functional and offers a beautiful site under huge indigenous trees with ablutions and barbeque facilities.
At the campsite, two newly built non-en-suite 2 person chalet are available for the luxurious camper or budget traveler. The campsite chalets come with electricity and standing fans. The rooms are furnished with a double bed or twin beds. There is enough place for any kind of tent you bring or you can hire a tent at the Lodge. At the campsite there is possibility for cooking your own food but the restaurant at the main building is open for everybody. The portions are big and the food is good. the bar offers cool drinks for overnight guests or day visitors and the splash pool is evenly refreshing on hotter days.
ACTIVITIES The Lodge offers a diversity of activities including early morning and evening games walks and drives. The evening drives can be complemented with sun downers and a night drive by spotlight.
Day trips to neighboring parks: Nyala park, Mwabvi National Park, Majete Game Reserve and Kapichira falls. Boat trips on the Shire River into the elephant marsh with or without fishing is also an option.
For the ultimate cultural experience it is possible to go to the nearby village of ndakwera where the inhabitants will entertain the visitors with local masked dances and traditional food unique to the area.
